Waggon Road Cemetery, Beaumont-Hamel (Somme)

Details

Beaumont-Hamel is a village and commune in the Department of the Somme, about 8 kilometers North of Albert. Waggon Road was the name given to the road running north to the village of Serre: and Waggon Road Cemetery is on the East of that road.

Waggon Road Cemetery (originally V Corps Cemetery No.10) contains the graves of 195 soldiers from the United Kingdom, of whom 36 are unidentified. Forty-nine belong to the Border Regiment, the 11th (Lonsdale) Battlaion of which attacked on the Ancre both in July and November, 1916.
