Peake Wood Cemetery, Fricourt (Somme)

Details

Fricourt is a village and commune in the Department of the Somme, about 5 kilometers East of Albert; and Peake Wood was a name given by the Army to a copse on the South-East side of the road to Contalmaison. The cemetery is on the North-West side of the road, almost opposite the copse.

It contains the graves of 87 soldiers from the United Kingdom, seven from Australia, and one from Canada; and in addition it contains memorials to five soldiers from the United Kingdom and one from Australia who are beleived to be buried in it.
