Munich Trench British Cemetery, Beaumont-Hamel (Somme)

Details

Beaumont-Hamel is a village and commune in the Department of the Somme, about 8 kilometers North of Albert. Munich Trench British Cemetery (named from a German trench captured by the 7th Division on the 11th January, 1917) is about 137 metres West of Waggon Road (see Waggon Road Cemetery). The two cemetereries stnd on high ground, in an area containing a large number of War Cemeteries and Memorials.

Munich Trench British Cemetery (originally V Corps Cemetery No. 8) contains the graves of 126 soldiers from the United Kingdom, of whom 28 are unidentified.
