Gommiecourt South Cemetery (P de C)

Gommiecourt is a village and commune in the Department of the Pas-de-Calais, 16 kilometres South of Arras and six kilometres North-West of Bapaume. The village was captured by the 3rd Division on the 23rd August, 1918.

Gommiecourt South Cemetery is on the South-East side of the village, close to the cross-roads on the way to Sapignies. It was made by the 62nd Division Burial Officer and the end of August, 1918. It contains the graves of 206 soldiers from the United Kingdom of whom eleven are unidentified, and 27 German soldiers buried in a separate plot on the South-West side.

The cemetery covers an area of 741 square metres. It is enclosed by a low red brick wall and stands in a prominent position.
